Alice In Wonderland To Make BIG Costume Splash!

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Producing great youth theater requires more than just talented kids on stage singing, acting, and dancing. While it is important to have the talent, it is equally important to have the other ingredients that make the production that much more palpable for the viewing audience! Of course, I speak about the tenets of a strong scenic, lighting and costume designer!

Kids Take The Stage is thrilled to have Tonya Marie from Gypsy Cat Studios designing many of our costumes for the show and we have included some of her designs to share with you and your budding young stars!

Kids Take The Stage’s latest teen production of “You’re A Good man, Charlie Brown” was a production of substance and value. With an elaborate, lively and colorful set by Tonya Marie of Gypsy Cat Studios and fun, candy-like costumes by Julie Pollack-Wanon, this show was a whole lot of fun! You almost could taste the warm coffee and feel the pages of your favorite paper comic story as it unfolded live on stage.

Directed by Amy Marie Haven with the deft acuity of a professional artist, teacher and director, Amy was able to pull amazing performances from all of these actors. Fun and energetic choreography from Tiffany Burris added to the excitement of the show, along with great musical directing by Linny Kenney.

Kids Take The Stage is thrilled to have hired Tonya Marie of Gypsy Cat Studios to design the sets for our Spring production of Alice In Wonderland. After designing for us for our latest successful production of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”, KTTS had to have Tonya back to work her magic with our young thespian’s musical production. But, scenic design isn’t all that Tonya will be doing for Alice In Wonderland. She will also be making the majority of our costumes all by scratch. Costumes are one of her unique gifts and her scenic and costume work combined with the KTTS’ amazing staff of directors and designers, Alice In Wonderland will certainly be something to write home about!
