Kids Take The Stage Teen Summer Conservatory proudly presents the epic, Les Miserables at the Lisser Theater on Mills College Campus 5000 MacAuthur Blvd Oakland, CA 94613 Performances are scheduled for 

July 18th @ 8pm July 19th at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm.

This epic story recounts the struggle against adversity in 19th century France. Imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread, petty thief Jean Valjean is released from his 19-year term and not only becomes an honest man, but the mayor of a prosperous town and a loving adoptive father - violating his parole in the process. The relentless Inspector Javert, who makes a decent life for Valjean impossible, consequently pursues him. Only years later, after Valjean proves his mettle during a bloody student uprising and saves the life of a young man hopelessly in love with Valjean's adopted daughter, does the ex-convict finally feel fully redeemed..A talented cast of 45 young actors from Alameda, Oakland, and San Leandro take on the demanding roles with grace and finesse.

Award winning, San Francisco artist, Sara Kraft directs and long time Alameda resident, Bonnie Duffey is at the musical helm. Oakland dance artist, Aimee Krasovich choreographs with NYU’s graduateMike Kasin serving as acting coach. The esthetics of the show are further accented with an elaborate set design by artist, Scott Ludwig; lighting design by Christopher Mejia; sound design by Jonathan Goldstein.
