Kids Take The Stage is a not-for-profit organization established in 1998 for the sole purpose of providing the highest quality in youth theater in both an artistic and technical arena.

All of our Kids Take The Stage productions employ top-of-the-line lighting, costume, scenic and sound design in addition to our award staff of directors, choreographers, and musical directors. KTTS strives towards the ideals of giving each participant the most authentic off Broadway experience as possible and preparing them for a career in professional live theater!

All of our Kids Take The Stage programs seek to nurture the mind, body, and soul and in turn promote confidence, self-awareness, cooperative learning, discipline, enhance self-esteem, and problem solving skills.

One Week Drama Camps

And now for something totally different! For those students who want to experience the magic of theater and are unable attend a month-long camp, Kids Take Tthe Stage introduces its one week themed drama camps! Meet new friends and have some laughs as we engage in fast-paced improvisations, test the limits of your pantomiming skills, and enter your face in our stage makeup contest. Students may sign up for one or more weeks.

One Week Drama Camps: Spring Drama Camp

Spring Drama Camp 2010 redefines one week theater workshops! In this five day camp students will learn professional stage makeup techiques, including aging techniques, animal makeup, fantasy makeup. Students will also learn scenic and costume design. At the conclusion of the camp, students will present two numbers from broadway's beloved musicals, Wicked and Hairspray! This will be a camp to put on the calendar books!

Educational Junior Theater

This performance-oriented class is designed to give beginning-intermediate students a chance to experience the process of putting on a full- length professional play. Each play is carefully selected in character content as to give every actor a chance to shine on stage and limits enrollment to the number of parts in the production.

Educational Junior Theater: The Jungle Book

This Fall, Kids Take the Stage Educational Junior Theater presents the beloved musical, The Jungle Book. In this lively and dynamic musical, students are cast in roles that follow the adventures of Mowgli and his animal friends. Shere Kahn the tiger; Kaa the Tiger; Bagheera the elephant; and Baloo the Bear. Every child will receive a role and there will be two performances.

Summer Drama Camp

Summer Drama Camp: Hansel And Gretel: The Musical

Sent into the woods, Hansel and Gretel meet up with a number of peculiar characters. A fiery troll guards his little wooden bridge. Even more, an articulate owl, a forest sprite and two hobgoblins are in the service of an evil (but extremely funny) witch. She locks poor Hansel in a cage and feeds him nothing but cake! Everyone will cheer Gretel as she outwits the crone and sets free all the children who have been turned into cookies! Every dramatic moment is brought to life, from the night spent in the woods to the discovery of the candy-coated little cottage. Sweetened delightfully with music, all will enjoy the fun of songs like "Gingerbread Witch" and "Apple Muffin Goblins."

Teen Educational Theater

Teen Educational Theater is a step up from our educational Junior Theater. The production and work is done at a more serious level with all the fun of the EJT. Teens will certainly feel at home and challenged.

Teen Educational Theater: Once Upon A Mattress

If you thought you knew the story of "The Princess and The Pea," you may be in for a walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that it may not have been the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of beguiling songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are, you'll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again.

Wee Theater

Wee Theater is a program designed and implemented specifically for ages 3-5 years old. As many may know, language development and hand eye coordination occur during a child's crucial first years of existence. When a child is around 3 years old, these developments can be supplemented by creative movement, gesture, and tactile learning, which in turn supplant a strong foundation for any child. Several studies show that children, who study some kind of enrichment at a very young age, often times become much better apt at being stronger leaders, voracious learners and willing participates in life!

Wee Theater is geared towards this end and will allow your child's imagination and social aptitude to grow by leaps and bounds.

Wee Theater: Wee Theater Summer Camp

In this two week camp, students learn the fundamentals of acting for the stage as appropriate for ages 3-5. Techniques to be covered include, reading, working with stage cues, props, and costumes.

At the conclusion of the camp, our little performers showcase scenes and songs from the older production of Hansel & Gretel.
