POLICIES
Audition Policy
Students are not guaranteed any one particular role they audition for in class. Roles are cast in such a way to benefit the overall production and each director has final say on the final cast of his/her show. Students who choose to drop the program simply because they did not like the role they were cast in, will not be allowed to register for any future Kids Take The Stage class or program. All casting is final.
Dress Policy
Each student should come to class wearing comfortable clothes and shoes, as our curriculumn involves a great deal of movement and blocking. All students MUST wear closed toed shoes (absolutely no flip flops or high heeled shoes) and never go barefoot in the rehearsal hall or theater arena. Sharing of clothes with other students is prohibited, especially the sharing of hats, hair pieces, bobby pins, etc...
Any clothing which displays vulgar language or depicts questionable imagery should not be worn.
Sign In/Out Policy
Kids Take The Stage takes safety very serious and each student is required to have a legal guardian sign them in and out after each class. Failure to do so may result in the child not being permitted to take part in the class. Students over the age of 15 may sign themselves in and out with a typed note from their parent or guardian with a valid signature.
Mutual Respect Policy
Each KTTS student must treat one another with mutual respect and dignity. Any hitting, name calling, profanity or slurs will not be tolerated and the student will be ask to leave class immediately.
Tuition Policy
All tuition for Kids Take The Stage classes must be paid in full prior to the first class meeting. If full tuition has not been paid prior to the first class meeting, the student will not be allowed to participate in class.
Waivers & Emergency Contact Forms
ALL students must sign a Student Waiver form and fill out completely our Emergency contact sheet. Before a child can begin rehearsal with us these items must be completed.
Refund Policy
Due to the popularity of Kids Take The Stage classes, camps and workshops there is a no refund policy once you have signed up. However, a credit can be issued for the amount minus a 15% administrative charge if the cancellation is less than two weeks from the original registration.
Solicitation Policy
Kids Take The Stage puts a great deal of time, money and effort into training and retaining its professional staff of teachers, and artists. Parents wishing to hire anyone employed with Kids Take The Stage MUST make a request through Kids Take The Stage main office. Kids Take The Stage can provide services such as private coaching, parties, and/or private group drama classes i.e home schoolers, boy scouts, etc.. through our own outreach center.
Material Fees Policy
All material fees are due by the first class meeting to cover any and all class materials pertinent to the production. Material Fees are nonrefundable.
Rehearsals and Performances
Students who miss more than two rehearsals during the course of a session will be dropped from the production and their part reassigned. It is encumbent of each parent to notify Kids take The Stage of any classes and/or rehearsals that your child will miss in the course of putting together our show.
Auditing Policies
Kids Take The Stage does not allow parents, friends, acquaintences or the like to sit in on any classes, camps or workshops. This includes any and all technical and dress rehearsals. Should a parent desire to view a musical number and or scene from a show that we are working on he/she must purchase a ticket for the performance.
Complimentary Tickets
All parents/guardians of the students receive two complimentary tickets for their opening night performance. These complimentary tickets are nontransferable and can not be used for another evening. If you are unable to use the tickets for the opening night performance you forfeit the ability to see the show for free.
Photographs and Video Taping
Photographing and/or video taping of any kind (this includes electronic media such as iphones, blackberries, etc..) at any of the Kids Take The Stage performances is strictly prohibited and if cameras are brought into the theater without our knowledge, you will be ask to remove them immediately. If cameras slip by the theater manager's radar and a flash goes off during the show from the audience, the show will be stopped until the camera is removed.
Scripts and CDs
All material distributed to the students from Kids Take The Stage is proprietary and usage of material for any other workshop, showcase, and/or performance is illegal and fines up to $5000 and/or up to two years in jail does apply. Licensing is a very serious matter.
